Happy Thanksgiving + Update!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and please welcome me back! I know I've been gone for quite some time now and so you know that I've been busy with school. Time is winding down now so now I can get back to blogging! Yay! I've missed blogging so much, I miss the blogger friends and being able to express myself via the Internet. A few things that have happened since I've been gone
- I moved into my apartment
- I celebrated my 19th birthday (Nov. 11)
- I finally got a job (my first one) at Macy's
-I just took a huge nursing test which is a factor of whether I will get into nursing school or not
- I finally finished two English papers that I was so tired of writing

School is still going on but its close to the end of the sememster and I'm on top of my work so I'm not that busy. Anyway, I have so much stuff planned for the blog. Here are just a few

Update:

Review. Covergirl Smoky Shadow Blasts

So awhile ago, I won this giveaway and it was a Covergirl Smoky Shadow Blast kit. Now originally when I won the giveaway, I thought it was going to be the kit (the eyeshadow stick, the mascara and liner). Instead it was 6 of the eyeshadow sticks all in different colors. Now to say I was excited is an understatement. I jumped for joy when I opened the package and couldn't wait to try them out. The shadows came in a box like this and all of the sticks look like this. There is a round side and a pointed side. The round side (which is labeled step 1) is used for color all over the lid. The pointed side (step 2) is used for your crease and lower lash lines.

What does the company say?
The two different, specially contoured ends of our ShadowBlast stick make it easy to create a bold, colorful, smoky eye. A duo of expertly paired shades provide the bold, spotlight-ready looks loved by today's hottest makeup artists.

Sweet?
-Great idea
-Good for people who don't like a lot of color
-Good price

Sour?
- Break easily
-Too creamy for them to last
-Creased even with a primer
-Need a lot of product to get the desired color

I give this 2 out of 5

I thought I would really love this product but it turns out I didn't. The product is really creamy, too creamy to be applied to your lid. The color doesn't show up well at all and I had to rub it so many times that my eyelid started to hurt. Some suggestions I would give to Covergirl is to make them a little more dense and a little less creamy. It's a great idea and a quick and easy way to get a smoky look but the product over all sucks.

A few posts back I talked about buying some ELF products and I did (I bought 15 from the site, 1 from Target and got one as a free gift from elf). ELF was having a 60% off sale so I picked up 15 products for 16.95, which was awesome. Mind you this was my first ever elf order and I went pure crazy. It was worth it though. The only problem I had with ELF was that it took forever to ship my items. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that they were having that huge sale though. Here are the products all together.
These were the four polishes I purchased from left to right: Mod Mauve, Punk Purple, Fuchsia and Fire CoralThe eye products: Cream Eyeliner in Midnight (which is dark blue, they didn't have black), brightening eyeshadow in Teal Dream, Studio Single Shadow in Charcoal, 4 cream eyeshadows: Eggplant, Sugar Cookie, Butter Pecan, and Olive and a Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (which I love)

A lipstick in Bare Brown and a lipgloss in Bare. And lastly the brushes and the free gift ELF gives you when you refer 3 friends.

I got the blending eye brush and bought the eyeliner brush from Target. The facial whip was the free gift and it can be used on your cheek, lips or eyebrow as a highlight. I prefer the brow.

Well, my face is at least. I think it has grown out of clean and clear and is in need of a grown up skin care regimen. I've been using clean and clear since I started using facial cleansers/acne prevention products. While Clean and Clear has lived up to its acne fighting claim.... it hasn't toned my skin or kept it moist. Lately I've been experiencing lots of dryness and my face looks really blotchy and discolored. Here is my skincare regimen so far.

China Glaze Poolside Collection Swatch #3

This week kicks off with another CG swatch. This time it is Towel Boy Toy! I love this color at first I didn't like it but it has grown on me a lot. Its a semi- shimmery dark blue. Really cute especially on your toes.

Hello everybody and say hi to Danielle. She is this Friday's iFollow Spotlight. Danielle is a fellow blogger and friend of mine who I've been knowing since I started my blog here is the interview that I had with Danielle.

Tee: How would you describe yourself?

Danielle: I'm a 22 y/o air force brat who still lives with my folks (hey ain't no shame in my game lol). I love reading. Like a lot......no seriously I do. I have loved reading since I was little. When I was around 14 or 15 it was something I really did a lot of to occupy my time especially when we would have to move to different states. I pride myself on how quick I've gotten at reading books. LOL don't judge me. If my friends or fam don't find me playing in my makeup they will definitely find my face behind a book. I also love to shop, which has gotten me into some trouble over the past couple of months. I'm really starting to think I have a problem. Don't be surprised if you find me on an episode of A&E's Intervention : / But I'm praying that day never comes.

Tee: What made you want to blog

Danielle:My blog actually started by an English assignment that I had to do my freshmen year of college. I had forgotten about for a while until I believe I was on youtube watching a makeup vid and the girl I was watching was telling people to follow her blog. That got me thinkin to turning this assignment into something fun. So I did! I wasn't expecting many people to read or even follow my blog, so it's come a long way.

Tee: What are some of your favorite brands?

Danielle:My favorite brands of makeup are Rimmel, NYX, ELF, Sephora's line, and of course MAC.

Tee: What do you think are essentials for creating the perfect "summer" face?

Danielle: Essentials for a summer face would be a tinted moisturizer or a MSF depending on your skin. A little liner, mascara, nicely groomed eyebrows, and gloss can really do wonders for your face.

Tee: What's on your beauty wishlist?

Danielle:Hmmm.....I have so many, probably even too many things on my wishlist. A couple things are MAC's violette lipstick, MAC's sweety lipstick, OPI's Garguantuan Green, and China Glaze Peechy Keen.

Tee: Who are some of the youtube gurus and beauty bloggers that you think everyone should follow?

Danielle:For youtubers I think everyone should follow xxISLANDBEAUTYxx, flowerpush, niniluvsmakeup, and DulceCandy87. For bloggers I would have to say you of course lol. Me too of course lol. Clumps of Mascara, *LilBuity*, Tina Marie Online, and Makeup by Kim Porter.

I am very proud to say that my blog turned 1 year old today. I cannot believe I stuck with it this long. I know I took several "breaks" but I still made it! June Favorites!

Hey ya'll I'm here today to talk about my June favorites. I'm really getting further and further into my make-up and I'm glad that I am! I've used eyeshadows in the month of June more than I've ever used them my entire life.I used both my PAC shadows and the shadows I received from dBeauty Junkee's giveaway.
The China Glaze polishes have been all I've been using ever since I got them, my fingers and toes have never been this bright.
I've been killing the mark. brushes, the lipgloss and the eyeshadow (be on the lookout for a long overdue mark. review later today).
The cliche cosmetics primer is something that I've fallen in love with right a long with the pomegranate make-up remover wipes.

Those were my June favorites. I'm about to place an order with ELF tonight can't wait to get that, I want to place an order with Cherry Culture for some NYX items but I need a coupon code before I do that lol. I also want to get this 120 Shany palette from Amazon... but idk ... I need a coupon code there too lol. I told ya'll I was on a beauty kick.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should buy from elf, cherry culture or amazon... beauty wise?

1. Do you apply your foundation with a brush, sponge, or fingers?
Well I'm not into foundation like that, but I did just buy some from mark. From the looks of it I'll probably use either a brush or a sponge, depending on which one I like best. I probably won't use much foundation though, mainly tinted moisturizer and with that I'll of course be using my hand.

2. Do you apply your eyeshadow from light to dark? or dark to light?
I usually go light to dark.

3. Do you prime your eyes?
I recently received a primer from a giveaway and since I have been using it. I didn't before but I notice a huge difference now that I use it.

4. Concealer first, or after foundation?
IDK, probably after, if the foundation doesn't do the trick then I will def. just use a bit of concealer.

5. Go for manicures, or manicure yourself?
I do it myself, I might start going and getting them done, but as of right now, I'm enjoying the money in my pocket lol.

6. Exfoliate lips, face or both?
Usually just my face. I might do my lips every once in a while, mainly in the winter because they get dryer then.

7. On average, how long does it take you to do your makeup?
For an everyday routine, I say about 10 minutes. Like I said i don't use foundation so I only do my eyes and my lips.

8. Do you wear makeup everyday and everywhere?
Nope, just sometimes.

9. What release are you most excited about? (Makeup)
None, I can't think of any that I would like to snag right now.

10. What's your weakness? Shoes, purses, clothes, jewlery, eyeshadow, lipstick or other?
Clothes!

11. Do you whiten your teeth?
Nope, just brush them :D

12. Wax eyebrows, or pluck?
Neither I was born with naturally arched brows so I don't go get them done and they are full but I don't want to get them done and then they get messed up. If they get too thick then of course I'll bite the bullet and get them done.

13. What do you use to contour?
I don't contour at all

14. False lashes, or natural?
Natural right now because I really haven't got the hang of falsies yet. I'm practicing though.

15. Favourite makeup brand?
Hmmm.... so far I really like the PAC shadows I received.

16. Liquid eyeliner, pencil or gel?
The cream pencil... but I want to become a master at liquid lining.

17. Lipstick, lipgloss or chapstick?
Lipgloss.

18. Pigments, pressed or cream eyeshadow?
Pressed.

19. If you had to wear only one thing, excluding foundation; what would it be?
Mascara.

20. Favourite color?
Pink, Blue, Gold

In Kiwi Kool-Ada. I love this polish and this is the one I'll probably keep for this weekend. Its a great pure green. Its not too light like lime and its not too dark like forest green.

3 Facials in Less Than A Week... What??

Who ever heard of getting 3 facials in less than a week? Well you can cool believe that I went down that road... but not exactly. Actually I tried out 3 facial cleansers this week due to the fact that I ran out of C&C Exfoliating Cleanser (bye bye C&C). The 3 facial cleansers that I tried were Philosophy's Purity, Mark's Brighten Every Day Kit, and C&C Finishes Even Tone Cleanser.

The Philosophy Purity Cleanser was ok. I hated the smell which made me hate the product. I'm big on great smells, especially when it comes to my face since the skin on my face is so close to my nose. Anyway as a cleanser it did fine though. It cleansed the skin greatly but it left my face feeling a little dry. My face felt smooth and clean but after a while it started to tighten and feel overly dry. Of course I fixed that with my C&C moisturizer. I give this cleanser a 3 out of 5. 3 for doing what its supposed to do and the loss of 2 points for smell and dryness.

The mark. Brighten Every Day Kit it was my second favorite. It comes with a cleanser, exfoliating beads, moisturizer and a spritz refresher. The number one reason why I love this cleanser is because you get the chance to build your own exfoliating cleanser by mixing the beads with the cleanser. The cleanser worked great, it got rid of all my make-up and excess dirt. The beads were great for exfoliating and you could change the intensity, if it didn't feel like it was exfoliating you could easily add more beads and make it stronger. The moisturizer was great! It was very creamy, I thought that I wouldn't like it because it has like glitter specks in it, but once you put it on you can't even see the glitter. One thing that I noticed was that once I put on the moisturizer if I touched my face it felt like a film was on my skin, after I waited a few minutes though and let it sink in, the filmy feeling was gone and my skin stayed moisturized all day. The spritz refresher was like a waste. Its just there to refresh your face, to me its like bursts of water in a bottle that you can make. I give this a 4 out of 5. I took off a point for smell and the refresher.

Now on to my favorite cleanser. As you all know I am a big fan of Clean and Clear products, I love their exfoliating washes, their moisturizer is like my go to product, and I've been using them for quite some time. Well I went to Target and they were having a sale and they were out of my normal facial cleanser and I needed one bad so I wound up picking up the Clean and Clear Finishes Even Tone Cleanser. First off, I noticed the smell, its great! Unlike the other two this one actually had a great smell. Its a foam cleanser which is something that I'm not used to but I like it. It smoothed over my face really good and on top of that it cleansed my face, left it feeling soft and moisturized. When I was finished I forgot to put moisturizer on because my face felt to moisturized. Eventually I did put some on though. I give this a 5 out 5, perfect score. This is now my favorite cleanser.

Hey ladies and welcome to the fist installment of iFollow Spotlight. Today I'm going to feature a fellow beauty blogger by the name of Maricela. Maricela, who goes by the alias of, Miss Krimson is a 22 year old make-up artist and skin expert. Maricela has been doing make-up professionally for five years but feels that she was born to do make up. Read her interview to find out more about her.

Tee: Tell us a little about your blog and why you chose to blog
Maricela: I created this blog out of my love and passion for two things, beauty and teaching others. As a beauty expert I constantly am educating myself, by going to classes for specific brands and learning from other experts. In the cosmetic store that I work at, I am known to be the one to educate all the other staff on new products or existing products. If someone has a question about skin care or ingredients or what not I am always the one that they send the customers to. On the flip side I love to talk and educated anyone who is willing to listen, about what I know. And after years of reading blogs and websites about beauty, I thought to myself. "Why don't I make one myself?". And so with no knowledge on how to make a blog, I taught myself. I constantly and randomly come up with topics for my blog. Whether it be an idea from a customer of mine or something I've been dying to share.

Tee: What are some of your favorite make-up brands?

Maricela: Smashbox has to be my all time favourite. My relationship with Smashbox was basically love at first sight. From their cruelty free point of view, to their environmentally friendly ways, to the quality of products. I love everything about Smashbox. Even how they started, from the two brothers(Dean and Davis) being told they could not do a thing. And look at them now! I also love Dior, Clarins, Coverfix and Revlon.

Tee: What do you consider your go to product? Something you can't live without.

Maricela: Smashbox Halo hydrating powder - can't live with out it. Coverfx Powder fx in M80 - my lifesaver. and a good tube of Mascara!

Tee: What are some future posts that your readers can look forward to?

Maricela: Honestly I cannot tell you what I will post as the ideas come to me randomly and most of the time I get inspired by looking at pictures. I will definitely have product reviews as I am a self proclaimed product junkie. I also love writing about more technical and scientific type points of views of all stuff beauty related.

Hey guys I'm here to give you a quick run down on things I've been doing this week. This post was originally supposed to be a video, but I hate how country I am lol, plus my camera on my laptop sucks so I won't be doing any videos until I get a new camera... sorry.

Anyway, I went to the bookstore yesterday and picked up two wonderful books.
-Allure Confessions of a beauty editor- $7.95
- That Extra Half an inch by Victoria Beckham - $19.95

The Allure one is a really great beauty book, I read it all in one day lol. It has great tips from make-up to how to have the perfect skin. It's similar to the Bobbi Brown book but instead it goes beyond just make up and it is packed full of information. Look out for a review on it, in the coming weeks.

The Victoria Beckham book is strictly fashion! You all know I'm on a fashion kick right now, since I'm trying to update my wardrobe before school starts. Anyway the book is strictly fashion it ranges from anything to jeans to lingerie. So far its really good and I've only read the first couple of pages.

The other things I want to talk about is the iFollow Spotlight, that is located right under this post. Basically what it is, is that I spotlight a blog every Friday. Top 5 Tuesdays: Fashion Sites

Ok, first off let me say that this post starts the beginning of Top 5 Tuesdays. Every Tuesday I will do a post of the Top 5 things I am obsessed with at the moment. They can range from anything like pictures to shoes... top 5 is a random off the wall post. Its about things that I tend to get into and love lol. I do this often, find stuff that I really like and continue to look at them lol.

So the first installment of Top 5 is about fashion. Fashion is a subject that I touched lightly on every once in a while. I'm really into clothes and shoes, I just fail to dress up because I'm really lazy lol. I have vowed that when I get back to school I will step my fashion sense up, I did a little bit of shopping this weekend and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchases (haul post later).

On to the Top 5. This weeks top 5 features fashion sites! I fell upon fashion sites a while back. I don't really participate in them, more like look at other people styles, because I don't have many outfits to upload. Anyway here are my top 5 (in no particular order).

1. Lookville : I was recently contacted by someone in charge of Lookville. She noticed my blog and wanted to send me a personal invitation. 5. Fashion Bay: Honestly I haven't done any bidding on here nor have I personally tried it out. The reason why well, I want to make sure it's legit. I have researched it and there are people on the internet who say they have won stuff. I'm personally asking a friend at the moment because she mentioned it before and I'm wondering if she's ever won anything. How it works is, you buy bids for .80 and then you bid on the item that you want. If someone bids in the last 15 seconds it starts over 15 more seconds and you continue to bid to see who the winner is. All you have to pay is the amount that the product ended up being based on the bids (very cheap like 12 or less). Price varies due to amount of bids. So here is my second eye of the day. I used PAC cosmetics eyeshadow that I received from the wonderful Priscilla Clara! I used the purple and silver shadows. First off let me say that they are very pigmented. I love the fact that the colors were so vibrant. One thing that I didn't like was the fact that they are powder so they are very messy, other than that I think they're great.

Here is the eye of the day. Excuse the fact that it looks a little wiped off. I took this picture after I went to the viewing of my friend and I had wiped it off due to all the crying I was doing.

Sweet: I love this product. I've been on a high and low search for the right toner and I have found it! I ran out of C&C toner and couldn't find it in stores anywhere, so when I tried this for the first time I fell in LOVE! First off the toner is alcohol free so it doesn't tighten the skin or dry it out. One thing I noticed is that it gets off all of the extra dirt that your facial cleanser might leave behind, not only that but when you're done your face is super smooth! Its also a good base/prep for your facial moisturizer because it smooths everything out. I didn't experience any burning or redness from the product being too strong for my skin. When I finished using the toner I couldn't believe that my face didn't feel dry or stiff, instead it felt moisturized and soft.

Sour: The smell is kind of weird like it smells like this foot soap I use when I soak my feet, but it isn't strong and it's not really a bad smell it just weirds me out that it smells like stuff I use on my feet. Other than that this is a go for it product. As far as evening out your skin tone or anything like that I haven't noticed much of a change but that could be because I've only been using it for a week. If I notice changes I'll be sure to update this post.

Overall: The product is really great for the price. I mean the bottle may not be that big but the one that I have is sample sized (.5 fl oz) and I've used it all week and its still close to the top. You don't need a lot of product for it to work. Its a great toner if you're looking for one and haven't found one that is like your holy grail.

Would I recommend it: Of course! Even if you're not even looking for a toner its a great product to have. I'm in the process of buying some as I'm typing this message it is that good. You'll notice a change the first time you use it.

Ins and Outs #1

So this post is a bit overdue. It was supposed to be posted on Monday, but as you all know I have been having a very stressful week. Here is my first ins and outs post.

Ins:

-Spending time with my boyfriend! Honestly I didn’t know how much I really missed him until I got back. Then he went to the beach for the weekend and I almost died lol. I was so lonely and bored… we spend every weekend together because that’s the only time that he doesn’t work. We’re really starting to get closer… Oh and did I tell ya’ll he got my name tattooed on his back???!!??? Yea, he did lol.

-Getting Money! Hm…. What can I say about this … I need the money bad, but I don’t have time for a job. I’ve been doing everything (well not everything) to find some quick cash. I sold back my texts books and got a pretty good amount (say around like $200 something lol) and I’m getting together stuff for a yard sale. I’ve joined Mark. So getting money is def. tops on my ins list.

-Blogging More Often! I’ve fell in love with blogging and when I first started I never thought I would like it this much. I never knew there were such amazing people on the internet that are willing to do such nice things for you. Not only that, but the fact that you guys actually listen to me ramble on is amazing!!

Outs:

-Weight Gain!.... no comment lol… j/k. Weight gain has been an out of mine for quite some time now. I’m working on losing the Freshman 15 or…uhhh 35 lol that I gained while at school. I’ve got a nice little workout plan going for me.

-Step Throat! IDK, how I even got strep like, where did it even come from. I woke up with a sore throat and was like ok, maybe my mouth is a little dry... then it got worse and I was like, oh no, I think I have strep! Its horrible…

-Teen Violence! I cannot stress it enough, how much I disagree with teen violence. NOBODY deserves to have their life taken by another human being. I will never understand someone who decides to do that just out of hatred of their heart. People are def. crazy and it’s a shame how people pull triggers and never feel any remorse. RIP to my friend and any of anyone else’s friends and/or family that were a victim of teen violence or any ignorant, nonsense violence period. May we all pray that tomorrow will bring better days.

I will try and get videos up as soon as I can, I just need my throat to stop hurting. So the Mark review and the giveaway video will be up as soon as my throat is better.

I'm Sick!

I'm so sorry that I have not been posting guys. I had so much planned for this week and was unable to do it, due to the fact that I am sick. I went to the doctor today and found out that I have strep throat. I tried to do a few video posts, but my throat wouldn't allow me to talk. I just took some medicine and I am a bit drowsy but if I wake up later and am able to write. I will def. write up a few posts and let them air this weekend. Once again... I am so sorry.

Teen Violence!

I really just wish the best for his family and I want them to know that I am praying for them. Teen violence is big where I stay and I really wish everyone around here would just grow up and realize that there is more to life than killing people you dislike. Please pray for my friend and his family.

BFB: Know Your Tools (Brush Edition)

Hey, ya'll I'm back again with another, Beauty for Beginners Post. I decided that I would feature this series every Sunday (this one is a little late). Until I finish the series as a whole, I'm thinking about turning this into an e-book.

The first post was about determining your skin tone, this post will be about knowing your essential brushes. First off let me say this, the first set of brushes that you purchase does not have to be expensive. I actually bought my first set from Wal-Mart for I think, like $11. The second set I got was Go with the Pro Mini Brush set, that I received in my mark starter kit.

This week we're going to talk about basic brushes and then next week will get deeper into what tools to use and how to choose those tools. The brushes that will be featured this week are:

-Blush Brush
-Eye Shadow Brush
-Foundation Brush
-Powder Brush
-Lip Brush

First we'll talk about the blush brush. The blush brush is of course used to apply blush to your cheeks. It should have soft, natural haired bristles with curved edges and it should be wide enough to cover the apple of the cheek.

The Eye Shadow Brush is used to apply eyeshadow to your lid. This brush should be able to cover about half of your eyelid and it should also have sort of a curved edge. The brush that you choose should be able to spread the eye shadow on your lid, without leaving lines.

The Foundation Brush should be used to apply foundation. The brush should be flat and able to deposit a good amount of foundation on the skin.

The Powder Brush is used to apply both loose and pressed powders. A powder brush and a foundation brush are two different brushes. The foundation brush is used to apply a liquid foundation. The powder brush is used to apply a powder which is often used to set the foundation in place. It will also give you a sheer finish to your skin. The powder brush is a large and fluffy brush that has a slight point and soft bristles. The point is used to navigate around your nose and under your eyes.

Finally the Lip Brush is used to apply either lipstick or colored glosses, etc. The bristles on the brush should be kind of firm and it should have a slight pointed tip. This brush is used to precisely apply lip color to you lips.

Hey ya'll I'm stepping in to do a quick nail of the day. Today's NOTD features Avon's Sunshine. It was one of the polishes I got in the avon haul I had last year lol. I found it when I was going through my nail polish bag. Anyway, these nails are fake lol. They are kiss glue on nails and I hated them lol. They were rounded for one and for two as soon as I got out the shower yesterday they started popping off. So I just took them off. Here is the NOTD

I don't know how many of you all know about Nicki Minaj or have heard of her, but I just wanted to say that I love her and her style. While I don't really agree with her lyrics and the fact that young girls idolize her (which that isn't her fault, parents should monitor what their children listen to), I do love her style. This image is for the June/July 2010 issue of Vibe. This isn't the actual cover and I'm not even sure if it's going to be featured in the magazine (I don't know why it wouldn't), but I must say this picture is bomb! I love her make-up and I don't always agree with her style of dress or shoes, but every time I see her make-up, I fall in love with the art of applying make-up. Nicki's make-up artist needs to be applauded!

L' oreal Go 360 Clean Part 2

L’oreal 360 Review Part 2

Hey everybody, I’m back again with the second part of the L’oreal review. This time I’m reviewing the regular one in the green bottle, it’s just the Deep Facial Cleanser. Last time I reviewed the Deep Facial Cleanser for sensitive skin, in the pink bottle.

First things first, the same prices and places to get the product apply. It’s about 6 dollars for a bottle and they can be found at your local Target, Wal-Mart, CVS, etc. I got this one for free from school, L’oreal was having a campaign on campus and I decided to get this one to see if I would have better results.

I did in fact have better results but not the best results. As always I loved the scrubbie, but the formula for the face wash isn’t the best for me. While it didn’t burn and sting like the other one, this one still dried out my face. I had to apply twice as much facial lotion than when I’m using Clean and Clear products and I noticed that I started getting fine bumps all over my face.

Another thing that I didn’t like about this one, was the fact that it didn’t feel strong at all. I would put a dime sized amount the scrubbie and it would spread all over my face. Not only that, but it doesn’t get the job done. It seems as if it’s a thin formula and while my face feels soft and clean, I can look at it a few minutes later and notice places where the cleanser didn’t get deep enough.

I was told by one of my blogger friends Erynn, that both of the products that I tried have menthol in it and that, that could be the reason for my problem. She has tried the Deep Exfoliating Scrub and she loves it.

Will I ever buy the 360 formulas again? No. They just don’t do it for me and instead of me spending another $6 dollars to try out the scrub I’ll just stick to what I know works best for me. Plus, the major thing that bothers me about these products is that even though, they’re different formulas (facial cleanser, scrub, sensitive skin, cream cleanser), the back of them all say the same thing. They all say “deeply cleans skin and unclogs –pore by pore. Removes all traces of oil, dirt, and makeup. Pores look visibly smaller.” I just feel like since they’re all different formulas they should all do special things.

All in all I give this product 3 out of 5.

L'oreal Go 360 Clean Part 1

Ok, honestly this is a long overdue post. I've been meaning to put it up for ages now, but I was told that I would be featured as a guest blogger and that this was the post I was to do. Unfortunately, that opportunity never came and I'm not upset because not I can give my readers the review straight from myself. First off let me say that I know that the product is old, but trust me when I say that I bought it when it was the hot thing on the market. Secondly let me tell you that this review is in two parts. Part one (this part) will feature the cream cleanser and part two will feature the regular cleanser. So here is my review on the L'Oreal Go 360 clean cream cleanser.

Today I will be reviewing the L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Cleanser and Scrublet. I found the ad in the newest Seventeen Magazine and thought to myself I had to have this product.

The price was very good for a cleanser and a scrubbie, only $6.99. The company says that the cleanser will clean your skin pore by pore and eventually give you clearer skin and smaller pores, and that it’s clinically proven to clean skin better.

Honestly I wanted to love this product. I wanted to love it so much so that I’d stop paying $20 for Clean and Clear and only have to pay $6.99 for a cleanser, but it just didn’t work out.

When I saw the bottle for the first time, I noticed that it’s smaller than what you see in the ads. In the ad it looks bigger but in real life it’s a lot smaller, but I bought it anyway. As soon as I got home I read the instructions (pop out scrubbie, run it under water, add cleanser and clean) and started going to work. Instantly I loved the scrubbie! The bristles on the scrubbie are very soft and they cause the cleanser to lather really well. I was so into the massaging sensation that the scrubbie gives that I totally missed the stinging feeling on my face. I continued to scrub for probably a good 10 minutes (the scrubbie is that good) and then I rinsed my face and that’s when I noticed the damage the cleanser had done. My face was red and instantly dry and peeling and I was shocked because I thought this would be the product to change my life. I started making excuses for the cleanser: its new so it’ll break me out at first, every facial cleanser is a little drying, with the water and rubbing, etc. So I added a moisturizer and it helped the stinging, but my face was still breaking out and peeling. Still I continued to use it. I used it for a week straight and it never got any better. I discontinued use and the same exact day that I switched back to my clean and clear cleanser, my face instantly cleared up. I’m trashing the cleanser and keeping the scrubbie, I can always use it with a different facial cleanser.

I give this cleanser a 1 out of 5 and the only reason it received a 1 is because of the scrubbie.

A while ago... I think sometime in December, I won a giveaway over at My Own Judge (please be sure to check her out). I won a lot of goodies (which I'll be posting later), but the one thing that caught my eyes the most was the polish that I received. I had never heard of knockout cosmetics until I received the polish. At first I didn't know what the color was but after researching and finding the website, koknockout.com, I found out that the color was called Pool. Before I do the nail of the day I wanted to give you guys a little background on the Knockout. They specialize in matte nail polish (which is what polish I own). They are a UK brand and one bottle of polish is $19 without shipping and handling. For international orders you have to contact them and within 2 days they will get back with you with information. I am so glad that I was lucky enough to win this. I would never buy a $19 polish... it's just not in my budget. One thing about Knockout is that their polish formula is very thick for both pictures I used 2 coats... at first it streaks but the second coat smooths it out.

Since I'm not too fond of matte polishes ( I wanted to try them out so bad but now that I have..... I think I'll stick to the regular ones), I decided to add a top coat and give the nails a little shine. So here it is with Essie top coat.

Since I've beens so busy with school and since my parents have already come and gotten all of my belongings (including the TV), I've been trying to catch up on a lot of blogs. While I am busy studying, whenever I take a break I am usually scanning someone's blog. With that being said I don't have blog post today, it's just quick update on the things to come once I return back home, and these exams are over.

- I will be reviewing all of the things I got on these giveaways, and I will try to give credit where credit is due. I have mixed some things around, so I can't really remember who gave me what, but I will try my best. I would like to list the products here but once again I am not with them so I am not able to do thta

-I will be starting a lot of my features that are located on the side pretty soon. I'll be back here to get them started as soon as I can.

-I will be hosting a blog sale pretty soon. My friend and I are having a yard sell with clothes, shoes, etc. Anything that doesn't sell there, I will probably put on there and on ebay. Everything will be good quality. Most of the clothes and shoes I have to offer, have never even been worn.

-When I get home and get settled, I will be signing up to become a Mark rep. I mentioned this before but with me being at college I wasn't recieiving my mail like I was supposed to, but now that I'll be home, I know for sure that I will recieve all my mail. -I am trying to get my hands on a digital camera so that I can have quality pictures to put on here, but I have yet to find one. If you know someone with a working camera who is trying to sell theirs please let me know.

-As you know I'm getting an apartment next year, so my blog will feature posts about the things I'll be buying for my aparment and some DIY projects for the apartment, etc.

I think that's it for updates, like I said I'm really busy right now, so I probably won't be back until at least Friday. I'm going home Wedensday and then Thursday I have to take care of some business, school wise and then I'm decorating my sisters room. For my blog sale I am willing to do swaps, but I really would like money because I'm trying to help my mom pay for my schooling and my apartment.

Man it has been so long, since I've been in here. School has been kicking my butt!! I have so much stuff to tell you guys but I'm just going to force it all in this one post.

Snow + Skin Care Regim

I am so sorry that I have been behind on posting but I will be sure to start back up. I'm officially settled in my classes so I can now get down to business. I have set up a plan to post at least 3 times a week and if I know I'll be busy throughout the week I will be sure to post it all in one day. Anyway, I should be in class but it got canceled because of snow!!! It started snowing Friday and I've been in my room all weekend hibernating like a bear (eating + sleeping= bad combo), which means I'll have to get back on my workout plan tonight.

Now on to better things, I wanted to show you guys my skin care regime. First off let me say I am strictly a Clean and Clear girl and let me tell you why. I've tried the cheapest formulas (soap and water) and the more pricier formulas (the little Zeno thingie) and nothing worked for me. I've been using C&C and have gotten amazing results. I've tried several different C & C products and have finally nailed them down to these three (Cleanser, Toner, and Moisturizer). I know that I should probably be using a face peel or something else but I haven't quite found the right one, so these are the top three that I use.

Beauty For Beginners: Determining Your Skin Tone

As I've been around on google and other websites and forums, I've decided that I would start a beginners segment. I myself am a beginner and as I learn different things about make-up, I will post them here.

Tips to Determine Your Skin Tone:

1. Vein Test: In natural light, flip over your arm and look at your wrist; if your veins are green then you have a warm skin tone, if your veins are blue then you have cool skin tone.

2. White Towel Test: Pull all of your hair off of your face and then cleanse it. Place a towel around your neck and shoulders, if you appear more yellow, then you have a warm tone, if you appear more blue then you have a cool tone.

3. Gold/Silver Test: If you look better in gold then you're a warm tone if you look better in silver then you're a cool tone

4. If you are still confused on your skin tone, you can visit a beauty counter at a department store and a clerk will be willing to help you.

CVS Purchase + Christmas Make-Up

So I was so excited to get to CVS and do damage on ther 50%-75% off sale, but when I got there I was so dissapointed. I don't know if everything was gone, or if my CVS was just that sucky, but I didn't pick up much of anything! Just 2 products! I love both of them though.

First up, I got this Wet 'N Wild Santa Baby Cosmetic Kit in Nice for $6.99! It was a great deal and I was so surpised to see that it was so cheap, but then again it was a Christmas special.

It comes with 12 eyeshadows, a blush, a bronzer, a lipgloss, and a mascara. Plus it comes with a blush brush and 2 eyeshadow applicators. For 6.99, this wasn't bad at all (oh and inside there is a dollar off coupon). I was wondering if I were to go out and find another one, would you guys be interested in having a giveaway??

Next thing I got from CVS was a Wet 'N Wild lipstick for .99. I'm not really into lipstick and this will probably be the only one I own (I might try for a red lip, IDK yet), so I figured why not pick one up for only .99.
I really love the color of this lipstick, it looks like a nude lip on my lips and thats what i was hoping for something simple and suddle.

Next up I got some make-up for Christmas I got a 20 lipgloss and 20 eyeshadow palette, some NYC adhesive eyelashes, and some NYC liquid eyeliner.

Changes + New Additions

Hey Lovelies!!

I'm finally back for the year 2010!! It took me a while to get back, but I'm here now. I've been busy, busy, busy trying to make my layout perfect and expand liptonTEE so that I can gain more readers. Here are some new features that I wanted to introduce:

1. The Layout: It's simple, easy to navigate and something that I really wanted. I loved the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's so I just had to do a Audrey Hepburn layout.

2. The Links: This is your simple way of getting around liptonTEE. I decided on links because widgets get a little to big and out of control and then it makes the blog look a bit unorganized and clutterd. I changed my about liptonTEE, created a disclaimer, and placed my twitter link over there. Also that is where you can follow my blog at (just click the FOLLOW ME link).

3. Blog of the Month: I mentioned this feature a while ago, but I went on a hiatus and was never able to do it. Blog of the Month will just be a section on my blog that features a blog that I think is amazing. For the first month, I will feature a blog and then every month after that I will give my readers a chance to e-mail me (carmella_stay_fly@yahoo.com) and nominate one of there favorite blogs.

4. Blogs I Follow: In the links section I added a link about blogs I follow. This will substitute for my blogroll.

5. Top 5 of the Month: I will be talking about my favorite 5 products of the month. Ranging from beauty to fashion.

6. Skribit and Formspring: Two ways to contact me for different reasons. Skribit gives you a chance to request a blog post. You can request reviews, FOTD, NOTD anything. 1 New Years Resolution Up and Running..

Happy New Year!! I wanted to do this quick post to let you guys know that I really truly appreciate you all that read my blog. As you know, I don't know that much about make-up but I am learning and to see people interested in what I have to say makes me feel amazing. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful new years and I hope that you have the best luck in 2010. I probably won't be back to post before the New Year rings in so... I'm going to leave you guys with a few changes for the blog for the new year.

1. I will be changing my background again. The reason being is because to me this doesn't fit for a beauty blog and two it's not all the way correct. There is more work that needs to be done to it.

5 Ways to Survive During Last Minute Christmas Shopping!!

Ok, so I am still working on the blog changes as of right now, I have yet to find a layout that will cooperate with me, so this may take some time. Anyway... I wanted to do something Christmas related, but I've been so busy last minute shopping, that I didn't think it would benefit anyone to do stocking stuffer posts or anything like that, so I decided to do a list on ways to survive last minute Christmas shopping.

Today I went out to find my boyfriend a gift. I had the hardest time because I wanted to try something different and on top of that it was at the last minute. Everyone knows that when you're pressed for time, even if you are a professional procrastinator like myself, you still get stressed out. So here is my mini goal for 2010 Christmas Shopping.

1. Have a Game Plan. Make sure you know what you want for who and where you're are going to get it from. There is nothing like, not having any type of clue what you want to buy someone when you're pressed for time.

2. Use Sale's Paper. Check for different types of sales that may be going on and then once you find something, head to that store and buy that item.

3. Relax. You are going to find a gift even if you have to look all day, there is at least one thing that you can find.

4. Shop for other people, not for yourself. The hardest thing for me to do is buy things for other people, because I always seem to wind up looking at things that I would enjoy. Stray away from your section. This leads me to the next tip

5. Don't go in the store looking for something for both yourself and the other person. For example, if you think you need a new purse but you're shopping for your boyfriend/husband some cologne, it's not going to work out. You'll be so wrapped up in the purse that you won't pay much mind to that and you'll eventually stray from the main task at hand and lose valuable time.

Review: Philosophy Gingerbread Man Shower Gel

Recently, when philosophy was hosting a big contest, I signed up to receive a sample of their Gingerbread Man Shower Gel. I've never owned a philosophy product before, but I've heard so much about them. I received the sample in the mail yesterday, but it was after I had taken my shower, so I used it today.

Before I even opened the package I envisioned that it would smell like some sort of cinnamon or ginger, or something. That was not the case. Instead it smelt sort of like oranges or some sort of citrus. While this isn't a bad smell, in fact I actually liked it, it just wasn't the smell I had dreamed of for a gingerbread man. I don't know if they mixed all the smells of the gingerbread man together (i.e. baked cookies, gum drops and icing) and that's what they came up with, or if they just completely missed the mark. I will say that once I had been out of the bathroom for a while, it did start to smell a bit like cinnamon but not at a lot.

As far as for my body.... it works wonders! The shower gel made my skin feel so smooth and I noticed this as soon as I applied it to my skin and was rinsing it off, I noticed that my left arm was slightly smoother than my right. Another thing I noticed is that it lathered well and all though it was only a sample I was able to use this over my body more than once, so I could only imagine how long the full sized bottle will last.

The gel also left my skin feeling moisturized and not only that but the scent stuck to my skin even after I applied my lotion (which was a totally different scent).

Overall.... I really liked the shower gel. I wouldn't recommend buying this if you're looking for the scent of a gingerbread man, but for the quality.... I most def recommend it. I will be looking into buying some philosophy products in the near future.

Quick Catch Up!

So... since my camera's been broken I've been a little bit down in the dumps and I wasn't really up to blogging since I can't show you guys any pictures... but I just got a new cellphone and it takes pretty good pictures so... anything I need to take I will do it by cellphone.

Hmm.... let's see what happened since the last time I posted which has been over a month.

First off I had a birthday, I am now an adult! I am 18, I can buy cigarettes and vote lol.... although I don't encourage smoking.

I didn't do anything spectacular for my birthday... of course me and my baby spent time together and he bought me a pair of sneakers. I bought myself some shirts... nothin too major... trying to save up for Christmas.

I have been booked with exams.... and I'm still not finished won't be finished until the 16th... but I'm vacationing right now.

Finally....

I'm back in action without a real camera.... I have a blog award that I need to post that I've had for a very long time and I have some great Christmas posts and some giveaways to notify you guys of.

2 Nail of the Day!

Today I am leaving you guys with 2 nail of the days, both of them in green!

The first on is the one of the Sally Hansen H-D's. This one is Hi-Def. I won this polish from the lovely Aquaheart over at Aquahearts Makeup Obsession.

This polish is a cute shimmery polish. I used I think 2-3 coats, I like it because it's green but I didn't like it because it needed 2-3 coats and it doesn't try fast at all. It seems as if it took me forever to do my nails.

The next polish is a another Sally Hansen this on was green with envy. I love this one because it's like a high lighter/lime green it's so gorgeous. I did both my nails and my feet with this color. The picture of this polish is really bad because I don't have much lighting in my dorm room and the flash made the polish look yellow.

New Weight Loss Challenge!

So, my mother and I have been trying to lose weight for as long as I can remember lol. She came down to see me at school this weekend and we created a weight loss challenge. The challenge includes not eating any snacks (chips, cookies, candy, soda, etc.) and doing 100 crunches a night. We started this yesterday so today will be my second day. So fart things have been going great, this is actually easier than I thought. Anyway, I weigh 127 right now but I want to get down to 115. I thought this was a great idea and an easy and safe way to diet since you're not cutting out any major food groups or taking diet pills.

Are any of you guys on a weight loss challenge, diet or work out plan? What's you ideal weight? What's the purpose?

For my next few posts I will be reviewing a lot of make-up that I've obtained since I've been away. Also my birthday is coming quickly! November 11th will be here before you know it, I'm so excited. Be on the look out for some hauls and Halloween pics!

What Will You Be For Halloween??

Since Halloween is coming up and because my poll revealed to me that you guys would like to hear a little more about fashion I decided to do a Halloween Costume Post. I will be attending a college leve halloween costume post and I have yet to decided on a costume yet. So here are a few costumes, all courtesy of http://www.wetseal.com/ ranging from several prices.

This is a cop costume that is just the dress and the belt for 34.50... it has a accessories but you have to buy them seperately. I would have loved to wear this if I was going to a Halloween Party featuring Lil' Wayne, that way I could be Miss Officer lol. I'm not really sure if I want to go as a cop, I've always wanted to go as a Sailor (I know it's weird but I love sailor stuff).

This is a sailor costume! I really want this one but it's 80.00 and I still have to buy my ticket to the party.... so I don't think I will be getting this one. It comes with the belt, the hat and the cuffs, but not the shoes and for it to be 80 dollars I think it should include the shoes.

This is sailor costume number 2 and it comes with the dress and the hat for 45.50... the price is a little better but I don't know if I like this one as much as the other one. What do you guys think?

New Boots!

So since it's getting pretty chilly and sort of rainy (here in Greensboro anyway), I decided I would post the boots that I've recently had my eye on. The first pair comes from Target out of the children's section (since I have such tiny feet) they're a size 4, and they were 17.99. They're pink and black checkers (but not really).

I think they're more plaid then checker... but whatever lol. The next pair of boots are by Ed Hardy. They're a pair of rainboots. I had the hardest time finding these rainboots, so I went on Zappos.com and immedeitly fell in love!! They're houndstooth black and white, with a little bit of greenish blue on them. They're 90.68 and I'm waiting for them to come in. I got these in a size 5 (woments).

I love both pairs of these boots! So tell me readers are there any cute boots you're looking at this coming winter season?

College Life!!

So I won't say I'm fully back now, but I will say that I will try and post on here every other day or so. I know I've probably lost a lot of readers but I will get this blog back up and running as soon as school cools down a little. I posted earlier that I would show pics of my dorm room, so I will do that now, along with some outfits that I wore when I went out this past week. Enjoy.

This is my side of the room, it looks cluttered but it's only because it's small. I was going to post a picture of my roommates side but I think I'll do that later when we don't have company lol.

Now here are the outfits. I went out on a Wednesday and we got lost (since I'm new here Idk where I was going) so we never made it to the club but I was still cute though.

I was so mad because I was sooo cute. Anyway I had on an army green romper and some black pumps.

When Friday rolled around I was most def. trying to get out of the dorm. So I made sure I knew where I was going.

I bought a dress from this store called Vogue and wore some black heels, with a beanie on my had because it needs to be done lol.

So I moved into my dorm on Weds. and I like college so far. I'm a little homesick though, I didn't think I would be but I am.... I think it's because I miss my boyfriend but whatever. Anyway, I start classes on Monday, and I'm trying to get all of my stuff situated. So I should be back officially on Monday my last class is at 10:50 a.m. so I'll have plenty of time to study and blog. I have a lot of stuff coming up for you guys, DIY mirror, pics of my dorm and the move in, and a few beauty reviews and I will go over the results for the poll, and try and get all of the upcoming post on the side done and out of the way. Now there's nothing wrong with this eyelash curler at all except the fact that it's opened, because I tried it out and that it doesn't catch short lashes that well. This will be sanitized. It comes with two replacement pads. I'll take my old one out and leave the other 2 in the pack for you to use.

This is a purple beaded necklace and some matching purple and silver earrings. I've never worn these before, at all.

Nail of the Day!

Idk, why I call them nail of the day's because in reality they're never once a day but anyway I'm back with another one. Today's nail of the day is the Caribbean by Ruby Kisses. It's done with a base coat and 2 coats of the polish. I did two coats because just doing one coat is just too... streaky... I guess you could say. So I did two coats. Um.... I just placed them up against my phone so you can see the nail polish against a black background.

This is the true color of the nails. They are a deep blue just like that. This is with regular light, no flash and the other one with flash looks almost identical so I won't post that one.

So how do you feel about this nail polish? Do you like it, hate it? Know something that is better?

Wal-Mart Haul!

Hey guys today I'm here to talk about my Wal-Mart Haul. Yesterday a few friends and I went to Wal-Mart and I picked up a few things.

It was a lot of stuff so I'll probably do a video post on all of the items that I got. I got 3 things from the dollar store though.

Followers Q&A!

So I really don't like the name much... maybe I'll change it to Tea Talk, but anyway. I just wanted to introduce this new feature on the blog. I wanted to give my readers a chance to become more involved in the blog. Because to me it's not how many followers I have, it's about how many people participate in the blog and feel important and included. So anyway here's the deal. I'll ask a question, majority of them will be beauty and fashion related, sometimes I might throw some off the wall ones in there. All you guys have to do is answer the questions here or on your blog.

How do you pick your foundation? And which one do you perfer, liquid, cream, stick or powder?

I have no answer for this because I have never tried foundation. This question will actually help me a lot lol.

So you all know I went shopping this past Saturday. Of course I'm not finished but here are the things that I bought I loved almost everything and I can't wait to wear them. I must warn you before I put them up, that this post will be semi-pic heavy.

This is a turqouise dress, that I'll probably fix it up with some leggings. In the store they had it with a pair of jeans, but with me being so short, it's going to be longer on me. The belt was sold seperately but I wanted to pair them together because I liked it. I got both of these items from Body Central. The dress was $16.50 and the belt was $9.99. Well because I went on tax free weekend it was actually $16 and $9. The dress is a size medium.

This is a pair of Dereon jeans. This isn't my first pair, but it's the first pair that I actually liked. The first pair I bought were from my boyfriend but he got them in a 5/6 which is my size but Dereon jeans run bigger (I found out). So I tried these on in a 3/4 and they are a perfect fit. I got these jeans from Man Alive for $39.

(I added a cool little polaroid feature to this one]. This is just a simple black purse. I decided to get one, since I don't use my other one at all. I got this from the Body Shop for $18. It's very big when you open it and it has a place for your cellphone and a zip pocket on the inside.

This is a blue and white outfit. The shirt is more like a little jacket thing that I will probably place a white tank under and the jeans are so cool, they're like stretch material posing for jeans. They don't even have a zipper but they stretch so that you can pull them up. The jacket is a small for $16 and the jeans are a size small for $29.

These are a pair of black Grane skinny jeans. I got these from Macy's for $15. They are a size 5.

This is a purple and white school girl looking top. I got this from the body Shop it's a size small and I paid $19 for it.

This is a Rocawear outfit that I got from Man Alive. This shirt is a small and I got it for $39 and the jeans are a 3/4 and I got them for $39

Well here it is the blog you've all been waiting for! Well I've been waiting for it, IDK about you guys! Anyway I'm going to talk about the new feautres on here.

First off, I changed my about me, you can now find my e-mail address in my about me.

Um, the poll is over in the top right hand corner, I think I'll have a weekly poll. Please, please, please, participate in the polls, specifically this one. I would love to know what you guys want to see more of.

Another thing I added was an upcoming posts section. I will scratch out the posts once I complete them, but the giveaways will stay posted until I reach those time frames. Also if you look in the upcoming posts section it says blog of the month. I will create individual post explaining that but I want to give it a little discussion here first. Blog of the month will basically be a blog that will stay feautred over on the side or maybe on the top of my blog.
